FAQs
During your online consultation, you'll have the opportunity to ask the doctor as many questions as you like. You'll also have a consultation in person prior to your surgery to ensure you are completely happy with the expectations of the procedure.
That said, here are the most frequent questions we're asked about this particular type of surgery. It is important to remember that results vary from one patient to the next. Everyone is different and that's what makes us beautiful.
How much can I reduce the size of my forehead?
This depends on a number of factors, including skin laxity, facial shape and hair density. Some patients can reduce their hairline by 3-4 centimetres, whilst others find 1-2 centimetres is the maximum possible and still have great results. It's important not to overstretch the skin, since this can lead to more scarring and reduced recovery time. We always discuss this in depth with you at your consultation beforehand and make a final assessment in person to ensure your expectations can be met.
Will I need a hair transplant to cover the scar?
You'll be glad to know the vast majority of patients do not require a hair transplant to cover the scar after our hairline reduction surgery. In fact, many patients report having no visible scarring just one month post-op. However, we do advise patients this is hugely dependant on skin tone, hair regrowth and aftercare and that nothing is guaranteed. We make every effort to advise you of the best aftercare routine and precautions to take to avoid long-term scarring. Our doctor is an expert at making very precise incisions that encourage hair regrowth through the scar that populates this region and usually negates the need for a hair transplant.
How much does hairline reduction cost?
All costs are calculated according to the patient and will be agreed upon during your online consultation. Whilst our doctor is a precision expert at this procedure, our prices are hugely competitive, ensuring both affordability and a world class approach.
How long will I need to take off work?
Most patients can resume to work 7-14 days post-op and commence their normal activities within 21 days.
Will my hairline be square or "straight across" after surgery?
No. We always strive to achieve a natural looking result, following the curve of the existing hairline.
Can hairline reduction be performed under local anaesthesia?
In theory, yes, but we only operate under general anaesthesia to ensure the most relaxed and precise environment for both the patient and the medical team. This mean staying overnight in hospital, during which time you'll be taken good care of and monitored to ensure you are relaxed and cared for.
